The Serene Ashvem Beach in North Goa
After going through loads of work, we want to take break from our daily life. Sea beaches are so refreshing and we like to experience the cool breeze while walking along the shore. All the tiredness goes away when the waves come rolling with the cool water and touches our feet. We like to run to the sea for this wet touch of Mother Nature. Ashvem Beach in Goa is such a beautiful beach where you can relax and spend your holidays into the calm and peaceful environment. It is 30 km away from Panjim in North Goa in the Pernem Taluk. The nearby beaches are Morjim and Arambol.
The beach is located near Chopdem village Panchayet. Local bikes and taxis are available from Panaji which you could hire and reach there. The distance of Calangute and Ashvem beach is 20 km, and you need to take the Aguada- Salim Raod to reach the beach. The nearest airport is Dabolim Airport which is 54.6 km and the nearest railhead is Thivim station which is located at a distance of 18 km.

Being less crowded the beach remains clean and peaceful. The greeneries around and the line of palm trees along the beach makes the landscape look much beautiful. Most of the tourists in search of peace get to this beach and find the connection with nature. The beach is well maintained and you can avail the umbrellas and the sun beds along the shore for free. There are yoga and meditation centers too where you can have mind and body refreshing retreat. Beach shacks, restaurants and cafes are available in close proximity and you won’t feel any difficulty in visiting there and staying there for long time.

- The famous Chapora Fort is located nearby just at a distance of 5 km.

- The most interesting feature of the beach is the Olive Ridley turtles which can be seen between the months of September and February.
- Due to the residential area of many foreigners the food found there is great and you can choose from varieties of continental dishes.
When to visit
The months from November to February are the best time to visit the beach and during the peak season you the beach shacks are opened for the tourist. At this time, the weather is just perfect for making a trip. The summer months are extremely hot and it gets harder to stay under the sun for a long time. During the monsoon the waves are too rude and hit the shore harshly. So it can be dangerous to go there in monsoon. And therefore during these months the nearby shops and shacks remain closed due to fewer crowds.
What to do
Walk along the beach or do some beach activities. Training facilities are there for surfing. Sit under the umbrella or have sun bath, whichever is your choice. If you want to have lunch, then go the vendors selling foods near the beach in small huts. You can bring those foods and have your lunch where ever you want. If you wish to stay overnight then there are lodging facilities in eco friendly huts built along the shore. The government has kept the place almost natural and did not hinder in the creation of nature by building concrete hotels around.
Altogether, you can see that the Ashvem Beach is fully natural and this is one of the beaches in Goa where you can spend quality time with nature, doing everything in a natural way. Visiting here would rejuvenate you up and prepare you for getting back to your daily ordinary life again. There are few Indians and more foreigners seen in the beach. You can feel the real spirit of positivity while you try to get closer and closer to nature. With stunning scenery all around stroll around the nearby villages for more nature experience.
