Celebrate new year in India: The New Year 2022 is almost here and what plans do you have for the new year! A new year is a time when all your hopes are new and so are your aspirations, new are your resolutions and new are your spirits, so why not to celebrate it at a new and beautiful place. Many of you may have got married this year or maybe had made some new friends and must be willing to spend quality time with them and planning where to celebrate, how to celebrate this new year, and how to make it a big bash party. I was seeking a good site to celebrate my new year so thought of sharing my list of wonderful zones to have a sensational eve with you the lovely people out there. And here we go with the list of 10 places to celebrate new year in India.

Lakshwadeep

The first place is very famous for secluded Beaches, lagoons, and Coral reefs in Lakshwadeep. Not as commercialized as the Andamans and a shade too beautiful as well, Lakshwadeep is making an appearance as one of the new year destinations in India. Being less populated Lakshwadeep makes it a perfect place to spend the new year with your close ones. The major allurement is the coral reefs which are an underwater paradise for people interested in scuba diving and snowballing.

Gangtok, Sikkim

The second place which has hit the list is very good for  Hills, Trekking, bicable zig-back ropeway and Natural Beauty, the name of this place is Gangtok, Sikkim. Situated at an altitude of 5410 feet, Gangtok meaning “Hill Top” in the local language is appropriately named so. Famous for the beautiful sunset and dawn views and its clean surroundings, this small town is also called the “Switzerland of the East”. A gradually growing sprawl of concrete, the town is blessed with a handful of sights. Imagine spending the eve of New Year in a place with such beauty.

The third-place which is my favorite too is UdaipurRajasthan. Also known as the “City of Lakes”, Udaipur is famous for its Rajputana Palaces, handicraft market, and diverse wildlife. Udaipur has its magic, not just in its marvelous palaces and monuments, but in its matchless setting, the tranquillity of boat rides on the lake, the bustle of its ancient bazaars, its lively arts scene, the quaint old-world feel of its better hotels, its endless tempting shops, and some lovely countryside to explore on wheels, feet or horseback. Visit the place around new year’s eve if you want to be treated like royalty. It’s a very good place for lovers and also for the folks who love lake palaces and are historical admirers.

Coorg ( Kodagu), Karnataka

The fourth place which has immense beauty in it is Coorg ( Kodagu), Karnataka. It is such a beautiful place and good for Hills, Wildlife, Buddhism, and Trekking. The Kodagu region, also known as Coorg, is famous because of its cool climate throughout the year and picaresque surroundings. Popularly known as the “Scotland of India” is a wonderful place to rewind yourself. One of the best places to celebrate the new year Kodagu is also famous amongst birdwatchers and backpackers.

Alleppey, Kerala

A place that comes fifth is AlappuzhaKerala. It’s good for Backwaters, Beachers, and Ayurveda. More romantically known as Alleppey, Alappuzha or Alleppey is called the “Venice of the East” is the hub of Kerala’s backwaters. If you want a serene getaway to celebrate the new year, then this is the place. Alleppey is graceful and greenery-fringed, disappearing into a watery world of villages, punted canoes, toddy shops, and, of course, houseboats. Float along and gaze over paddy fields of succulent green, This is one of Kerala’s most enthralling beautiful and relaxing experiences. Alappuzha is ideal for those looking to greet the new year in peace.

Mumbai, Maharashtra

This place is best for the city explorers, the place comes at number sixth is Mumbai – City that never sleeps. It’s good for Beaches, Nightlife, Religious, Fine dining, Historic, Shopping. The city of dreams, which has something for everyone, from rags to riches, from beaches to high rise, from slums to bungalows, from street vada-pav to luxurious 7-stars, Mumbai is the amalgamation of Indian culture and people. With many beaches and historical places to explore and clubs ready to give you a dazzling start to your new year. Mumbai caters to you the way you would like it to.

Delhi ( Dilwalo ki Dilli )

Delhi on number seventh is good for Historic, Religious, Party, Food, and Shopping. Being the capital of India, New Delhi is full of historical places and museums. It is artistic heaven but if food or shopping is your idea of fun, Delhi should be at the top of the list. From Mughlai to South Indian to Continental food and from Rajasthani Handicraft to Madhubani paintings to cheap Chinese electronics, Delhi has it all. This city makes for a colorful new year celebration.

Kasol, Himachal Pradesh

The number eighth for new year celebration is Kasol, Himachal Pradesh. It’s a famous place for Hills, Serene and peaceful environment and Trekking. Parvati Valley, located here is one of the most beautiful destinations. It’s also a summertime venue for trance parties transplanted from Goa and at any time an easy base for exploring the forested valley or just chilling out. Being a Mountainous area it would be very cold here during New Year, but the great time you’ll spend here partying and breathing in the fresh mountain air and enjoying the scenic beauty, will make you forget about the chill. With its crazy party scenes and beautiful natural scenery, this is the place to be during New Year’s eve.

McLeodganj, Himachal Pradesh

The number ninth, McLeodganj, Himachal Pradesh is the headquarters of the Tibetan government in exile, McLeodganj boasts of some amazing sightseeing places, food cafés, and unique Tibetan souvenirs. A mix of cultures, Mcleodganj is the residence of the 14th Dalai Lama and is famous for the Bhagsunath temple. Shiva cafe, a small trek near the temple is recommended. Mcleodganj is one of the best new year destinations in India if you are looking to welcome the New Year in a peaceful place with a different culture and amazing scenery all around.

Gokarna, Karnataka

Gokarna famous for its Beach, Secluded, Peaceful, Religious, and Cheap accommodation comes at number tenth. Situated on the coasts of Karnataka, Gokarna lives a dual life. A regular nominee among travelers’ favorite beaches in India, Gokarna is a more laid-back and less-commercialized version of Goa. It attracts a crowd for a low-key, chilled-out beach holiday and not for full-scale parties. This place is highly recommended if you want to celebrate New year’s eve with a group of close friends without much interference.

Well for me all these places are number one as these all are too calm and amazingly beautiful places to celebrate new year’s eve with your loved ones, family, friends, and partners.
