In addition to the U.S. Route 1, there are over 40 bridges linking each of the different keys along the highway, including the most popular and largest of all of them: the Seven Mile Bridge. This bridge was originally built in the early 1900s for the railroad service.

Flights to either airport are routes through Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, or Miami International Airports, but there are also direct flights from small airline companies located throughout the Bahamas and Florida.
International travelers need to connect from the Miami International Airport. Marathon is located about 100 miles south of Miami, while Key West is about 150 miles away. You will not only find car rental services at both airports but also helicopter and small plane rentals.

Florida Keys Travel By Land
Driving from Miami International Airport take LeJeune Road south to 836 West and continue west to the Florida Turnpike Extension (821), then south to US1 and the Keys.
From Orlando, take the Florida Turnpike south, following through Fort Lauderdale. Get off at Homestead / Key West ending at Florida City on U.S. Road 1, the main road towards Key Largo. Continue over the Overseas Highway to visit all the Keys from Key Largo to Key West.
There are two different routes coming from Tampa, one is I-75 south to Naples and then east across Alligator Alley to the Miami Exit and south to the Turnpike Extension. The other is via US41 south to Naples, east to the Turnpike Extension, and then south to U.S. Road.
By Train get as far as Miami via the Amtrack Railroad than by bus on Greyhound, which takes you directly to the Florida Keys.

Florida Keys Travel By Sea
The easiest way to arrive is taking the Intercostals Waterway leaving Miami and passing through the Card and Barnes Sounds to get into Florida Bay, however, this course is limited to 5-feet draft vessels.
