This dive site is on the further side of the Andaman Sea. Even though this dive site is quite far, you will be rewarded by the many species of fish that you will see, since this site is where the pelagic fish feed – mantas also frequent this area and a wonderful sight to see on a dive. This is the best place to test out your skills after you learn scuba diving in Thailand because here you will be greeted by huge shoals of fish, soft corals, gorgonians, clumps of bryozoans, underwater pinnacles, and anemones, so maintaining your buoyancy is a must.

2. Koh Kraden Wreck

This a great place to go diving after you learn scuba diving in Thailand, as it will also test your buoyancy. This sunken Japanese destroyer ship has become home to many species of fish like lionfish and great morays. You can also spot large seahorses hiding behind the ropes. You can get to this dive site from Phuket.

3. Hin Nok

This is another dive site where you can test your mettle after you learn scuba diving in Thailand. This dive site is made up of a plateau and pinnacles with plenty of gullies. You can find turtles swimming around there, as well as moray eels, whip corals, Moorish idols, butterflyfish, barracudas, and angelfish. Aside from these, you can also spot the Ghost Pipefish, which is a very unusual-looking fish and also incredibly difficult to find, so keep your eyes peeled!

4. Koh Ma

Another great place to test out your underwater prowess, after you learn scuba diving in Thailand, is Koh Ma. This dive site offers a shallow dive; however, you will not be disappointed with the depth, because you will still see a number of unusual fish in this dive site. One of the fish you should keep an eye out for is the shrimpfish that swims upside down.   This will test your ability to maintain your position at a more shallow depth, where due to the increased pressure change; it is easier to pop up to the surface.

These are just a few dive sites that you can enjoy in Thailand.  Due to the diversity of the underwater wildlife, it means that even the local dive sites can provide a different and interesting dive every time you dive there.  I, for example, never got tired of seeing the leopard sharks.  After you learn scuba diving in Thailand you can choose from any of these dive sites and test out what you have learned.

Out of the water, the diving islands of Thailand can offer as hectic a holiday as you want to have.  They offer a fabulously relaxing, simple life, or a party animal social experience; as well as soaking up the local culture and getting a great tan on one of the gorgeous beaches. Learning scuba diving in Thailand is a memory that you will cherish forever, as the environment underwater is as beautiful as it is on the surface.
