About Mayapur Iskcon Temple
Mayapur, in Nadia District of West Bengal, is home to the ISKCON temple. Acharya Srila Prabhupada founded the ISKCON temple. It spread throughout India later. It covers an enormous area. An idol of Acharya Shrila Prabhupada is visible at the main gate. The temple is home to three main altars: Sri Radha Madhava Panca-Tattva, Lord Narasimha Deva, and Sri Sri Sri Radha Madhava. Sri Sri Radha Madhava is the main deity in this temple. He is accompanied by eight of their Ashta Akhil, or friends, as well as Gauranga Mahaprabhu (and Giri-Govardhana). The idol of Lord Nrisimhadeva, also known as “Sthanu–Nrisimha”, is located in the center of the temple. This temple is the only one where a specific form of Nrisimhadeva can be worshipped. He is a fervent protector of his devotees against demons, with bent knees and red eyes. This idol was placed in 1986. The main temple is located next to Sri Pancha Tattva temple. 2004 saw the installation of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Sri Nityananda Prabhu as well as Sri Advaita Acharya and Sri Gadhadhara Panita, respectively.
International Society for Krishna Consciousness (i.e. A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada founded the ISKCON society in 1966. The society is dedicated to Krishna worship. It currently has 10,000 temple devotees and 250,000 congregational worshippers worldwide. There are 350 ISKCON centers around the globe. Mayapur, near Kolkata, is the international headquarters of ISKCON society. ISKCON society promotes its mission to improve the welfare of all humanity by teaching them the Bhagavad Gita and other ancient blockages.
Srila Prabhupada’s Pushpa Samadhi Mandir
It is a shrine to Srila Prabhupada. The golden rays from the sun illuminate a tall, impressive, marble dome. In the Pushpa Samadhi Mandal, Prabhupada’s garland was laid. Here is a huge brass idol of Srila Prabhupada. The Samadhi site has a beautiful garden. A large panorama display depicts Srila Prabhupada and his struggle to establish ISKCON. It is located inside the Samadhi Building. There is also an auditorium in the basement.
Srila Prabhupada’s Bhajan Kutir
It is located on the left-hand side of the main gate, where Srila Prabhupada lived from 1972 to 1976. According to Srila Prabhupada’s instructions, kirtan involves continuous chanting holy mantras.
ISKCON Mayapur has more than 200 cows. Volunteers and veterinary physicians take good care of these cows. Products derived from cows such as Ghee and Yogurt are also sold by the Mayapur Gosala, including Go-ark, Yogurt, and Ghee.

Train: The nearest railheads are at Howrah or Burdwan
By Air: Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is the nearest airport to Mayapur (123 km).
By road: Mayapur has good road connections to other cities within the state. To reach Mayapur, you can take a bus or taxi from Howrah (or Kolkata), Burdwan, and Burdwan.
