Restaurant Bar Ky: An unusual place in Santiago
Restaurant Bar Ky is one of the most unusual restaurants we visited during our trip to Santiago. Its decoration is highly detailed and has several completely different environments, which makes it a unique experience in the city. It somewhat resembles the Andrés Carne de Res of Bogotá, but unlike the best-known restaurant in the Colombian capital, which is all relaxed, this one has relaxed and more chic surroundings.
How to get to Restaurante Bar Ky?
The Ky Bar Restaurant is located at Avenida Perú, 631, Bellavista. If you want to go by public transport, the best option is to get off at Patronato station, which is approximately 10 minutes’ walking from the place. See our post with more details on how to use the Santiago metro.
Ky Bar Restaurant
As soon as we arrived at Avenida Perú, 631, we suspected that the restaurant was at this address. It has no indication and its entrance looks like a gate to an abandoned house, but when you visit you can enter that the address is right. After passing through the gate and being welcomed, we crossed a large red curtain and arrived in a small room with oriental statues that have already shown that the decoration of the place is different.
When we entered the Restaurante Bar Ky it seemed that we were entering Buraco do Coelho from the tale of Alice in Wonderland. The decoration is highly detailed and there are several environments, some more relaxed and others chicer. The furniture is also very different and you will find pieces with a more modern design living in harmony with more rustic pieces.
The price of the dishes varies between R $ 30.00 and R $ 50.00 and drinks can cost R $ 15.00. It is not very cheap, but it is a fair value for the different environments and the unique experience of being in this place.
We went to the restaurant early on Saturday night and the place was still empty, but we have already seen some reports showing that the place is very crowded on weekends. Thus, it is valid to make a reservation in advance to have no problem with not finding a place during your visit.
