7 Seattle Destinations that Will Make Your Trip Worthwhile

Seattle Destinations: Are you planning a trip to Seattle in the near future?  While there, be sure to hop in a Seattle cab and explore some of these attractions and destinations, taking advantage of everything the Emerald City has to offer.

Whether you just want to get a bird’s eye view of the city and Puget Sound or want to have dinner in an upscale restaurant that rotates, the Space Needle is well worth checking out. This icon is the symbol of the city, and no trip to Seattle will be complete without it.

While you are checking out the Space Needle, be sure to explore the area around it.  Something is always happening at Seattle Center, whether it’s the Storm playing at the Key Arena or one of the many scheduled festivals.  Numerous theaters are located here, and you can catch high-quality theatrical productions or concerts.

Whether you want to see fish being tossed or glass being blown, Pike Place Market is the place to go.  No matter what time of year you visit, the Market is full of local farmers and crafters selling their wares.  In the summer, the sight and smell of perfectly ripened produce will tantalize you, while during the winter holidays, the Market is a riot of color and sparkle.  If you are planning to bring back a souvenir from your stay in Seattle, this is where you get it.

While you are exploring the downtown area, have a peek at the waterfront, where you can find the Seattle Aquarium, as well as a number of fun shops.  Peek into Pirates Plunder or visit the beautiful waterfront park.  Stop and have dinner at Ivar’s Salmon House and taste the very best in Northwest cuisine and local wines.

Depending on which time of year you arrive, make sure to come down to SoDo to watch one of Seattle’s teams play.  In the summer, come see the Seattle Mariners play at Safeco, one of the most beautiful baseball fields in the country and known for its unique take on ballpark cuisine.  Other times of the year, visit Centurylink Field to hear for yourself one of the nation’s loudest NFL stadiums.  Both the Seattle Seahawks and the Sounders Football Club make their homes here.  Join in as part of the 12th Man or participate in the Sounder taunts!

 Snoqualmie Falls

These stunning falls are about an hour’s drive from Seattle.  The short hike to see the falls will be well worth it, and while you’re in the area, make sure to check out the numerous small wineries and businesses located nearby.  During the winter, drive up I-90 just a bit farther and check out the fantastic skiing at the Summit at Snoqualmie.  Whether you’re cruising the easier slopes of Summit West or pitching yourself off black diamonds at Alpental, there’s something for everyone here.

About an hour southeast of Seattle is Northwest Trek.  Tourists can view this incredible wildlife park either from the comfort of a tram or along with one of the many nature trails.  See moose, bears, bison, and other wildlife up close and personal.  If you are planning to be traveling with kids, they will especially love this treat.
