We found the Shillong hotels and accommodation facilities to be in line with our preferences. You’ll achieve your desired comfort level even when you don’t opt for the more luxurious rooms.
Sightseeing Tours in Shillong:
Shillong Peak Travel
Traveling to a distance of 10 km from the city brought us to this picnic spot, which stands at a height of 1965 m from the sea level. Catching a panoramic view of this countryside is worth cherishing for years. During the spring months, you may visit the summit of the peak. You may stand witness to Obeisance, which is offered to U Shulong inside the sanctum sanctorum. We were truly delighted to observe the star-studded abyss created by the row of city lights.

From Shillong, we needed to drive up a distance of 56 km for reaching Cherrapunjee, which stands at an altitude of 1,300 from sea level. The greenery of the Meghalaya Mountains and pine forests sets the backdrop of waterfalls and beautiful lakes that constitute the main attractions of Shillong tourism.
For all Shillong tourists, driving to the famous Nohsngithiang falls is a must besides watching the waterfalls roaring while falling into the deep gorges. On our way to Cherrapunjee, we came across the Presbyterian Church.

Multiple tour packages have been designed to cover the Sohpetbneng peak, which is about 20 km away from Shillong and rises to an altitude of 1,343 m. Members of the Hynniewtrep group consider this hill sacred. The sacred forest has much to extend the scenic view of this place. My aunt seemed to have attained considerable peace and solace while visiting this place.

The boating option and the garden walks compelled tour planners to include this place in their list.

Both Falls reach a deep valley as their water dissolves within misty sparks.

The heritage and lifestyle of this place can be observed while you’re visiting the Museum within the State Central Library complex.
Cathedral of Mary Help of Christian
We came across devotees visiting this place in large numbers at Laitumkhrah.
Elephant Falls
The outskirts of Shillong showed us through the Elephant Falls standing at a distance of 12 km. The rock dells covered with fern accommodate two falls created from the descending mountain stream.
Shillong is certainly an ideal holiday destination throughout the year. An amiable ambiance is created by the combination of climate, people, and places in Shillong. The British rulers in India used to describe Shillong as the Scotland of the East as the place still retains much of its old charm. I had witnessed the beauty of nature as I took a tour of this popular hill station. Maybe it’s your turn now!
