Elephant Falls:

This waterfall is 12 km away from the city of Shillong. It can be easily reached with the help of public transport. It consists of various different smaller waterfalls which merged together in order to form a much larger waterfall. That is why it is a sight to behold due to the sheer quantum of water which gets accumulated in the waterfall.

Mawlynnong:

It is located in the East Khasi district and has won the awards of Asia’s cleanest village in 2003. In addition to that, it has also won the award of India’s cleanest village in 2005. This village is also known by the name of God’s own garden. When you add to the fact that it has dense greenery all around, you can be sure that it is a sight to behold especially during the monsoon.

Umiam Lake:

it is located 10 kilometers from the town of Shillong. However, due to the sheer size and the natural beauty of the lake, it is a must visit. It is flanked by mountains all around and lush green forests.

Don Bosco Museum:

This museum is dedicated to the entire north-eastern culture. That is why, if you want to explore the culture as well as the handicrafts and the daily life of the people of North India, this is a must to visit. Not only you would be able to find handicrafts but you would also be able to find weapons as well as photographs from the north-eastern states. That is why it has become pretty famous. In addition to that, the museum is pretty vast as it spans across 17 different galleries in a 7 storey building.

Shillong Peak:

Shillong Peak

This is the highest peak in the state of Meghalaya of the Himalayan mountain range. It is included in most of the tours of Shillong tourism. Needless to say, from the peak you would be able to get the entire view of the Shillong Hill station. In addition to that, the natural beauty which you would be able to view is simply unparalleled.
