Located in Sikkim, this glacial lake is slightly off the Gangtok – Nathula Highway. The surrounding ice-laden mountain enhances the sheer beauty of the lake. Rich in aquatic life, Tsongmo Lake is the natural habitat for various migratory birds coming from nearby areas. Along the serene lake lie various temples as well as little shacks which offer tasty momos and tea. Additionally, you can also take on a yak ride to wander about the nearby area.

‘The Valley of Flowers’ as it is called, Dzükou Valley comes forth as a pretty trekking hotspot in North-east India. In the spring season, the Valley is in full bloom with a variety of flowers growing across the vast land. You can plan on staying through the night for star-gazing under the moonlit skies which are believed to be as bright as the sun, according to the Mao legend. Keibul Lamjao National Park in Manipur is a one-of-a-kind destination and is the only floating park in the world. It is home to the endangered species of ‘Sangai’ or the ‘brow-antlered deer’ and the only place where it is found. Apart from this, there are various bird species endemic to the area and other migratory birds which grace Keibul Park during the migratory season. You can embark upon the park trail on the surrounding lake in a boat. Capture the picturesque views while you move around so that you’ll have a bundle of memories to cherish when you go back home.

This village in Meghalaya has evolved due to a Community-based eco-tourism initiative and has worked towards making the surroundings cleaner and greener. This has led to a significant decrease in the amount of waste generated since most of it is reused in some form or the other. What attracts you here is the unbelievable ‘balancing rock’ and the magnificent ‘living root bridge’. The latter has been intricately carved by several generations of people to make it what it is today. Not only this bridge has made the lives of people easier but has given Mother Nature an architectural marvel of their own.
