Los Angeles is home to many internationally renowned nightlife spots like Sound, LURE, and Avalon. It’s always good to do your online research before heading anywhere. With that in mind, I discussed the best things to do in LA at night in my previous post and now I’m going to explain some of the coolest nightclubs and bars in Los Angeles. Interestingly, hundreds of people including rappers and other celebrities go to these clubs and bars to enjoy the nightlife. So let’s get started. Here is the list of the best nightclubs in LA.
1. Avalon Hollywood
Undoubtedly, one of the most popular nightclubs in LA, Avalon Hollywood is a historic nightclub and an exciting venue for special events. It is located near the intersection of Hollywood and Vine. The interior of the Avalon is beautiful. They have three bars and an excellent dance floor. Also, the seating is comfortable, the bartenders are cool, and the staff members are nice & friendly. However, beer can be a bit expensive at the Avalon, so keep that in mind when ordering for yourself and your friends. In my opinion, Avalon Hollywood offers the best nightlife in LA depending on what you’re looking for.

2. Sound Nightclub
If you’re serious about dancing and hearing music, Sound Nightclub is the place for you. Just like The Mayan, it opens only two nights a week, Friday and Saturday. However, opening hours of Sound Nightclub are a bit different than The Mayan, from 10:00 pm to 3:00 am. They have friendly bartenders, energetic dance floor, and an unsurprisingly good sound system. The hospitality of the club is amazing. In my opinion, Sound is one of the best nightclubs in Hollywood.

3. Lure Nightclub
LURE is another great nightclub in LA to celebrate the weekend with your friends or to bring your date. It is located right in the heart of Hollywood. This nightclub features four bars, great food, awesome cocktails, enjoyable music by industrial DJs, private VIP booths, kinetic light spheres, plush lounge seating, and much more. The bartenders and food servers are nice and energetic. Lure Nightclub opens every Saturday night from 10:00 pm to 2:00 am.

4. Boardner’s by La Belle
Located in Hollywood since 1942, Boardner’s is a classic bar and dance club, technically known as B52 Club. The dark and artistic theme of this venue gives you the vibe of a noir film. According to locals and tourists, Boardner’s is by far the best bar in Hollywood LA. They have an art deco bar, a dance floor, and an awesome patio. There is a bartender at Boardner’s named John. He is a very cool and lively person and he always makes you feel welcome. This venue opens seven nights a week, from 4:00 pm to 2:00 am.

5. Station1640
The theme and décor of Station1640 are designed to look like the underground subways of New York City. This club is located in the heart of Hollywood LA. Station1640 has an excellent sound system and fun layout. It’s a great spot for drinks, food, dance, live music, parties, gaming or even to watch a comedy show on TV. Opening hours are from 6:00 pm to 2:00 am, from Monday to Friday.

6. Exchange LA
Exchange LA is an award-winning nightclub in Downtown Los Angeles, which is located in the former LA Stock Exchange Building. It is one of the most stunning nightclubs in LA featuring great music, fabulous lights, big screens, and talented DJs. A bit expensive but has an amazing ambiance. It opens two nights a week, Friday from 10:00 pm to 3:00 pm and Saturday night from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am.

7. Elevate Lounge
Elevate Lounge is a unique and stylish nightclub located 21 floors above Downtown Los Angeles. This lounge features an open-air dance floor, best skyline views, and plenty of couches by the windows. It is a terrific place where you can bring friends, dates, and coworkers. However, Elevate Lounge is a bit expensive but the services they offer are worth it. The lounge opens every Friday and Saturday night, from 10:00 pm to 2:00 am.

8. The Mayan
The Mayan is formerly a movie theater and currently a nightclub as well as a concert venue in Downtown Los Angeles. You can spot this nightclub on several Hollywood movies. If you’re planning to head to this place with your friends, note that it opens two nights a week, Friday and Saturday, from 9:00 pm to 2:30 am. You must follow the dress code in order to enter this venue. Club Mayan has a cool atmosphere, beautiful decor, a great sound system, and a strict dress code.

9. Conga Room
Located in Downtown LA, The Conga Room is a Latin inspired nightlife spot and concert venue, co-owned by Jennifer Lopez, Jimmy Smits, and some other famous Hollywood celebrities. The atmosphere is great. The staff members are very attentive and super friendly. The Conga Room is a great spot to spend a night with your date or have dinner and drinks with your friends. It only opens on Saturday nights, from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am.

10. La Cita Bar
La Cita Bar is a traditional Latin dance club, bar, and live music venue. It is located in the heart of Downtown LA. They feature live music and DJs 7 nights a week. The venue opens at 11:00 am and remains open until 2:00 am. This nightclub has something for everyone to enjoy, which makes it one of the best nightclubs in Downtown LA.

11. Das Bunker
If you want to dance to some joyful upbeat music to lift your spirit, head to Das Bunker. This club has a massive collection of dance floors, a lot of space, so many rooms, and a large patio. The management is nice and friendly. Opening hours are from 10:00 pm to 3:00 am, seven nights a week. The fabulous music of Das Bunker is one of the reasons people keep coming out to this dance club.
