It is run by a husband-wife duo. The fresh seafood and meat, and recipes handed down from generation to generation add to the taste of the food.

The place feels up quickly especially in the evenings so be early. The ambiance is rustic yet the picturesque setting makes it romantic. Recently they also added a room for rent. Bistro Villa Blanche

Good food, good music, and good company are the USP of Bistro Villa Blanche. Though it does not seem quite a romantic place, it made it to my list because of its charming location. It is housed in an old Portuguese villa in the charming Goanese village of Assagao. The place is named after the original owner of the house Ms. Blanche.

The sitting area looks very cozy and homely, there is handcrafted mosaic tables, a lounging area with colorful pillows and throws. The food is home-cooked, and the products are resourced from local markets and from stores in Europe. Since it was originally conceived as a German Bakery, you will find a few dishes from Germany, and baked goods too. However, most customers agree that they get a feel of old European cuisine here.

The dishes to try here are the Purple Mango Thai Curry, Asian Prawn Salad, Smoked Black Forest Ham. They have also introduced a vegan menu and I hear the Sunday brunch is very popular here. A late morning brunch with your beloved will definitely be a great way to start your day. They also have a small store for fashion and lifestyle here.

As expected from a 5-star property, the service is impeccable and so is the decor. You can choose to sit outside and I feel, under the stars creates the perfect idyllic ambiance, either for long conversations or some quietude. The food at the buffets here is a mix of Indian, Continental, and of course local. Albeit expensive, the ambiance, food, and hospitality make up for it.

One of the most iconic romantic restaurants in Goa is perhaps the Tuscany Gardens. It is also known as one of the best places for Italian cuisines in Goa. If love is in the air, can chocolates be far behind? Hence the final eatery on my list is a cafe that specializes in all things chocolate. The experience here is that of an intimate, cozy cafe. It is very refreshing as well, a change from the usual touristy kind of eateries with typical curries and thalis. The alfresco seating area gives the impression of an English tea room. The cafe is literally a hidden gem, though located on Fort Aguada road, it is very easy to miss it. Each table has a fan which keeps the temperatures down even during mid-day. The tranquil setting sets it apart from other places. Though the place is known for baked goodies, they also offer all-day breakfasts. A good option for a light lunch would be the paninis. The home-made chocolates are great for taking back with you.
